Have you been feeling it too?

That place between hopelessness and rebellion?

Therein you lies a calling.

When you are still, in witness of the world, you find yourself observing fear and judgement, consequences of racial divide. You see broken systems built upon a consolidation of power rather than empowering the whole. You see poverty where there should be prosperity, sickness where there should be health and hunger when you know bellies should be full. At times the pain of it all can feel like such deep sorrow it's hard to move, let alone engage in the movement. But still...you believe in something more for yourself and for our world.

BECOME A REALSAYER

If this sounds all-too-familiar, let me just say,

SayReal is with you.

SayReal is an urban-reggae band spearheading the soundtrack for the revolution.

Division is nothing new. Discrimination is nothing new. The idea that one way of living, loving or praying is nothing new. But the tactics through which to convince us that one is right while another is wrong have become more subtle. We saw it in the last election. Every online move we made was used to build a psychological profile that was then sold to the highest bidder. You'd think that in music we'd be safe from that, but we're not.

Our musical sovereignty is being overridden by the millions of dollars major labels are willing to invest in their artists.

Our brains release dopamine when we've heard a song enough times. Which means that even if you don't like a song when you first hear it, you listen again and again and again and suddenly you find yourself singing along because it's familiar. This particular form of musical brainwashing is not the fault of the artists, but the suits who play on your fear of uncertainty to manipulate you into listening to what they think will line their pockets rather than what is meaningful to you.

And this mere exposure effect can be seen in more places than the music industry alone.

You see it in political campaigns, news cycles, advertisements and other kinds of media that aim to undermine our ability to think independently. But you get to decide what influences your psyche, your spirit, your life, the moment you become aware that you have a choice.

Because you know what, I believe that no matter who you are or what you've been conditioned to believe... No matter your age, race, sexual orientation or political party -

the right song has the power to open a person's heart and change a person's mind - in an instant.

Not a million streams. SayReal's music is about bringing you a sense of oneness, healing and compassion. It's about giving you permission to feel whatever it is you need to feel without judgement. Connect to your power without ego. And that's the kind of music I believe is worth investing in.

Because there's something else going on here. We live in a time where we're technologically more connected than ever, and yet we're more depressed, lonely, mentally ill, distracted and disconnected from our spiritual selves than we've ever been. So how do we live gracefully in that contrast? How do we make room for that dichotomy? More importantly, how do we, as a culture evolve beyond that? Where we show up for ourselves, each other and our planet with the same enthusiasm we use to curate the characters we show off on social media?

What if by investing in SayReal, and becoming a RealSayer, you were fueling that kind of evolution? How magical would that be?

SayReal is not just a band, it is a movement and all who hear the call are welcome.
